The difference between collaborative robots and industrial robots

Date:2023-03-10   Views:6728

Assistance robot is Collaboration Robot; industrial robot is Industrial Robot

The working mode of the two is the same. From the technical parameters, there is no difference in terms of load, speed, accuracy and axis. But the mechanisms designed in the two are different. These 2 types of robots are produced and provided by different companies. Industrial robots use high-speed servo motors and reduction gearboxes, and assist robots use hollow torque motors. Industrial robots move faster and are more rigid. Assistance robots emphasize safety. They will automatically stop when encountering obstacles to protect people working together. What they emphasize is that they can work together with people. An industrial robot is more likely to be a piece of machine equipment.

In practical applications, industrial robots are suitable for high-speed movements and good guardrails. There are no fences, and assistance robots are used for collaborative human work applications, such as composite robots (assisted robots + AGV). It is obviously inappropriate to carry fences. Of course, theoretically speaking, when the assist robot is set to a higher speed, it is not absolutely collision safe.

No matter what kind of robot it is, as its cost continues to decrease, it will be increasingly used in various automation projects.
