IGBT automated assembly case of Japanese company

Date:2023-02-01   Views:6548

The project is owned by Japanese-owned Toshiba, and its products are power electronic modules. It is required to automatically assemble IGBT modules, automatically assemble connecting pieces, automatically lock screws, and automatically detect. Because the requirements are very high, there are still many challenges encountered. Fortunately, through hard work, we can meet customer requirements and expectations.

1) There are many types of IGBTs and connectors that need to be assembled, and special jigs are generally required to assist in positioning and fixing during assembly.

This will lead to too many types of part chucks and jigs, waste time in switching jigs and reduce production capacity, and the jigs will interfere with each other, making it difficult to implement. The method adopted is to use two sets of motion modules driven by linear motors, equipped with multiple sets of part chucks and locking screw modules. One set of motion modules is responsible for clamping or sucking parts, moving them to the corresponding position, and fixing the parts. One set of modules is responsible for driving the corresponding locking screw modules and dispensing modules to work. The two sets of modules cooperate with each other because the two human hands work together. In this way, Waltrontech solves the problem of diverse parts and does not require dedicated auxiliary jigs for each part. Of course, the two must cooperate well, and it also requires a lot of details and technical cooperation. Also because the torque needs to be more precise, the screwdriver head and leather case need to be specially designed.

2) The locking screws have high torque requirements, the locking screws require pre-locking and tightening steps, and the appearance has high requirements.

Torque accuracy has strict requirements, so a relatively high-end servo intelligent electric batch machine is needed to control the torque accuracy, record the torque of the locking screw, and monitor the entire process. At the same time, because the cross of the screw is in an unknown position after pre-locking, if the cross of the fastening electric screwdriver cannot be aligned with the cross of the screw, it will scratch the edge of the screw, resulting in poor appearance. It is necessary to use machine vision and sensors to detect the cross-hair position of the screw, and then adjust the cross-hair position of the electric screwdriver so that when the two come into contact, they directly enter the cross-slot.

3) Because there are high requirements for the locking screws to be in place, floating height, sliding teeth, whether there are too many connecting pieces, and whether the screws are vertical and normal before locking, Waltrontech set up machine vision and laser sensors to inspect and confirm each part.

4) In order to adapt to the assembly of different products and parts, machine vision is set up to automatically identify each component, adapt to flexible production, and prevent the installation of wrong parts.

The customer's original intention is to meet the high requirements of assembly and prevent manual errors, so it is necessary to greatly improve the intelligence level of the equipment and set up improvement measures for small problems that have occurred in the customer's production process until manual labor is completely mentioned and efficiency can be improved.
